Is shipping to non-US & Canada supported?

Yes. When you initially create an order your shipping will be set at $1. Based on the items you purchase, we’ll estimate the weight of your package and the country we are shipping to and calculate the anticipated shipping cost and add that to your order.

NOTE: Because shipping outside the US is expensive, Emilie will subsidize the cost (up to 50%) depending on the items you have purchased.

NOTE: Shipping costs include: postage, packing materials, and labor. It DOES NOT include any import, VAT fees, or fees imposed by the carrier. Before your package will be delivered, you must pay these fee which go directly to your taxation authority and not us. If you fail to pay the customs, and the package is returned to us, you will have to pay the full shipping cost for the second package. Alternatively, you can request a refund, however the amount refunded will be deducted by the full shipping costs as that money has already been paid for the first shipment and it’s costs are not recoupable.

Will Kraken’s Guide to The House Witch be available through the pre-order store?

No, but you can purchase it directly from Campfire once it is live on that site.

Will there be copies of book #2 and #3?

Maybe at some point, but not for several years. The print rights for The House Witch are currently signed to Podium Entertainment for a 7 year term. This Kickstarter had to be negotiated with them (and they will receive some of the funds from it). Once the rights revert to Emilie and she is free to do whatever she wants, there may be a Kickstarter for those books - but for now, if you want the “full story” you should buy the Omnibus edition (which is actually cheaper as it is priced at a buy 3 books for the price of 2.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

Terms and Conditions

In order to make the products affordable, shipping costs have been subsidized by the author. If a package was properly addressed and yet was returned, the cost for reshipment will be born by the backer at full cost.

Payment for pre-orders will be made once books have arrived and are ready to ship. Any pre-orders may be altered (subject to product availability) or canceled before payment is processed.

Failure to update a change of address is the responsibility of backer. For packages sent to prior addresses, the backer will be charged for reshipment at the full postage cost. If the mis-shipment does not result in a returned package, then the backer may be charged for the missing product. The price charged will be "at cost" and not the full retail price of the product.

Any books that are damaged while in transport to the backer will be replaced by the author at no cost to the backer, including the cost for shipment. To request a reshipment sent a picture of the damaged goods to [email protected] within 15 days of package delivery. Depending on the extent of damage, a return label may be included to send the damaged book back to the warehouse. If the return label is not used, the backer may be charged for the non-recoupable books "at cost" rather than the full retail price.
